Homecoming King and Queen for 2022 Announced

Tuxes and glittery dresses walk across the green football field, linking arms with their parents as they await the dwelling decision of who will be the next king and queen? The moment is finally here, anticipation rings through the football stadium until the words are ushered “Tori Orekoya and Caleb Koger for Homecoming King and Queen!”

In joining the homecoming court many of the candidates did not expect to win, but concentrated more on the excitement and tradition that went into getting votes and participating in all the homecoming spirit fun.

“I thought it would be fun. Some teammates told me to run and I thought why not!” said Homecoming King, Caleb Koger.

The results were announced during the football game’s halftime against Mayde Creek. The Homecoming Court walked onto the field with their parents as they each were individually introduced¬† while principal, Dr. Hull walked on with the last year’s Homecoming King and Queen.

“I was honestly in shock [when I won]. I heard people going around saying that many people voted for other candidates so I wasn’t sure,” said Homecoming Queen, Tori Orekoya.

Tigers ended their football game slamming the Rams 59-3 while the homecoming week ended with the homecoming dance in the Merrell Center.
